The regeneration actions were officially presented and inaugurated during the final partners’ meeting hosted by Asociación Tilia in Ciudad Real on 12th and 13th of December 2025. Together with partners from Italy and North Macedonia, we visited the mini garden created at Espacio Joven and met with local youth representatives and municipal youth staff.
On the second day, a public seed-exchange activity was organised at the municipal urban garden on Calle Sol, where around 50 participants received strawberry, rosemary and lavender seedlings from our garden. The event also provided an opportunity to present the newly built raised beds and explain their role in reducing irrigation water consumption and reusing organic waste for compost.
The seed exchange marked the beginning of a new cultivation cycle, and in the coming months new workshops will be announced to continue engaging the community in sustainable urban gardening practices.
The event also received coverage in the local press, highlighting the “Intercambio de Semillas” held at the Huerto Urbano Ecológico de la calle Sol, where citizens, associations and municipal representatives took part in exchanging seeds and plant starts, and learned about the sustainable regeneration actions carried out through the project.
