As part of the KA2 project Urban Regeneration, and following a series of initial meetings, workshops, and the training course in Italy, the first practical activities for revitalising the park in Kumanovo have officially begun.
This phase marked an important turning point in the project — moving from planning and ideation to real, hands-on action. Over the past several days, the first work session was carried out, bringing together the team and volunteers who actively contributed to preparing and improving the space.
During this action, the overgrown grass was cut, significantly refreshing the overall appearance of the park. The concrete walls were cleaned and prepared for new artistic graffiti, which will soon add colour, vibrancy, and creative energy to this public area. Additionally, the wooden shelter was repaired and restored to full function, once again offering a comfortable spot for rest, conversation, and social interaction for local residents and young people.
This first work action demonstrated the importance of volunteer effort and collective responsibility in taking care of shared spaces. With each improvement, the park begins to take on a new identity — becoming brighter, more open, and more welcoming as part of Kumanovo’s urban fabric.
And this is only the beginning. In the coming months, we will continue with new activities, artistic interventions, and structural improvements, with the goal of fully transforming the area into a small, green, and creative space for all members of the community.
